Barbara Daley: Art Journaling Near & Far

Barbara Daley

Barbara Daley is a mixed media artist working from her home studio "7 Bangles Art & Design" in Ft. St. John, in beautiful Northeastern British Columbia, Canada, on the Alaska Highway.

Her passion is encouraging creativity in others, of ALL ages and levels of experience.

She is inspired by nature , travel , and by illustrating poetry, especially the Persian poets Rumi, Hafiz, and Kabir. Her favourite tools for expression are sketching and drawing on location, watermedia, acylic painting and mixed media and textile art, PanPastels, meditative doodling, contemplative collage, and photography....and basic printmaking.

She art journals as a daily practice, and especially relishes taking this practice "on the road", to make travel journals, which provide a unique way to savour the experience. Sometimes she travels "NEAR" in British Columbia and across Canada, sometimes the USA. Sometimes she travels "FAR", for example to India, China, Mexico, Costa Rica, and far!

Barbara teaches small group art journaling and travel journaling retreats, as well as collaborating on community art projects and engaging in a diverse range of commissioned projects.

Barbara has studied Illustration, Media Development, Graphic Design, and Independant Studies in Graphic Design through the Visual Arts Program at Northern Lights College, Dawson Creek, B.C.

She has taken workshops with Suzanne Northcott, Theressa Bernard, Marreth Warren, Diane Bersea, Mike Svob ;and through MAIWA Textile Symposium, Granville Island, BC, and many more to be yet recalled....

Currently enrolled in Sketchbook Skool, with Danny Gregory!
